New NIPE exco tasked with continuing power sector development

Members of the newly elected leaders of the Nigerian Institution of Power Engineers (NIPE), Ibadan Chapter, have been instructed to continue with the model left by the institution's immediate past leaders aimed at improving the power sector Nigerian electricity.

Former NIPE President Mr. Folarin Bello made the charge during the election and swearing-in ceremony of the new leaders held recently in Ibadan, the state capital of 'Oyo.

Bello said that: "I give thanks to Almighty God who spared our lives to witness the handing over of the leadership of the NIPE Ibadan Chapter today to Mr. Olusola Taiwo Ojo, MNSE, MNIPE and other executive members to lead our great institution for the next two years.

“I take this wonderful opportunity to instruct the new exco to continue where we left off, to ensure adoption of the energy sector development model that we were using and I pray for God to continue "to guide them accordingly. As I said at the last Annual General Meeting, I will do everything in my power to provide guidance as needed so that the incoming President and other Executive Members can be successful." /p>

The election produced: Olusola Taiwo Ojo, MNSE, MNIPE (Chair), Busari Saheed, MNSE, MNIPE (Vice-Chair), Suara Saheed, MNSE, MNIPE (Vice-Chair), O.O Ojekunle, MNIPE (Secretary Technical), Ms. Bamidele Oladunni, MNSE, MNIPE (Deputy Technical Secretary), Simeon Afolabi, MNSE, MNIPE (Treasurer), Samuel Oladipo, MNSE, MNIPE (Publicity Secretary), Ms. Ekone Aderonke, MNSE, MNIPE (Financial Secretary) Kazeem Ogunbiyi, MNIPE (Secretary General), Segun Odedele, MNSE, MNIPE (Deputy Secretary General), Afolabi Waheed, MNSE, MNIPE (Membership Secretary), Dr Taiwo Oyedemi FNIPE (ex officio member) and Ibraheem Folarin Bello, FNSE, FNIPE (outgoing president).
