Governor Abubakar Sani Bello Urges The Speakers Of The Council Of State Of Niger To Educate The People At The Grassroots On The Need To Participate In The Upcoming National Census

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has called on the local government chairpersons of the 25 local government councils to sensitize the population on the need to avail themselves of the upcoming national census.

The Governor made the roll call during a special iftar for Local Government Chairmen, Principal Officers and Government House Staff, held at the Governor's Official Residence in Minna.

Governor Sani Bello emphasized the importance of the census, especially for the state, adding that it is one of the indices for making critical decisions about the states of the Federation.

The governor, who praised all the council chairmen for supporting his administration so far, acknowledged that although they are new to their roles and the task is herculean, he is confident they will succeed .

He also commended his principal officers and other Government House staff for their resilience in ensuring the smooth running of Government House business.

The Governor noted that their commitment and hard work helped provide the Government House benefit that has become a pride of the state.

While instructing them to maintain the integrity of the Government House as it does not belong to anyone, he enjoined them to cooperate with the incoming administration.

The Acting National Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and Chairman of the Borgu Local Government Council, Alhaji Yarima Suleiman, on behalf of all Council Chairpersons, thanked the Governor immensely for his firmness in ensuring that the council elections that brought them to power took place.

He also appreciated the Governor for the support he has given them since their arrival on board.

The Governor's Chief of Staff, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe, who spoke on behalf of key officers and other staff at Government House, described the Governor as "a kind-hearted leader who empowers people to right their wrongs".

He said working with the Governor is a privilege that has helped him learn a lot about administration, adding that the Governor advised him to be patient with people in life.
