Nigerian experts discuss the benefits of investing in reproductive health (LIVE UPDATE)

PACFaH@Scale, a Bill and Melinda Gates-funded project anchored by the Development Research and Projects Center (dRPC) will join other experts today at the Futures of Health Conference to discuss financing and the benefits of investing in reproductive health and rights.

The event, with the theme “The political economy of health; Investing in Nigeria's Future”, aims to provide a high-level platform for key players in politics, governance, economics and health to discuss the factors that influence Nigeria's health policies .

Experts will focus on how political, social and economic factors shape individual and population health outcomes; development of health services in the economic and political context, and how to create a national health service that meets the needs of all Nigerians.

The President of the Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria (SOGON) and SOGON-PACFAH @Scale Project Manager, Habib Sadauki, will speak at the first panel discussion titled “The Economics of Health ".

Mr. Sadauki will talk about the benefits of investing in reproductive health rights. She will also highlight the importance of health financing with a focus on women and children.

Other speakers in the first session include Lancet Nigeria Commissioner Obinna Onwujekwe; the Nigerian President's Special Advisor for Finance and Economy, Sarah Alade; Onoriode Ezire, Senior Health Specialist at the World Bank Group, and Ola Brown, Founder of Flying Doctors Healthcare Investment Company.
