No plan to suspend Saraki – Kwara PDP
The Kwara State branch of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, has dismissed rumors of a plan to suspend former Senate Speaker Dr. Bukola Saraki by the State Labor Committee , SWC, party.
A statement issued after the SWC meeting in Ilorin, the state capital, urged party members and supporters to remain calm and dismiss the rumored suspension of the former state governor for two terms.
"We urge members and supporters of our party to remain calm and dismiss the alleged suspension of our leader, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, by members of the State Labor Committee, as it has maliciously disseminated by some people with the aim of sowing discord within the party,” said the statement signed by State Party Chairman Babatunde Mohammed and State Secretary Abdulrazaq Lawal.
He explained that the expanded meeting convened on June 1, 2023 to consider the outcome of the 2023 general election "has been misinterpreted or distorted by some disgruntled elements".
