Nottm Forest sign Bayern Munich defender Omar Richards – player signs four-year contract

Newly promoted Nottm Forest has announced he has signed Omar Richards to a permanent deal with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Richards only moved to Bayern last summer when he joined them from Championship side Reading.

The 24-year-old played 17 times for the Bundesliga side last season and he joins Nottm Forest on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old told the Official Forest Website: "I am delighted to be returning to England, joining Nottingham Forest at such an exciting time.

"The club have had an incredible few months in recent months and there are high ambitions for a return to the Premier League.

"I have played against Forest in the past and they have great support from their fans, while the City Ground is an amazing place that I can now call home."

Nottm Forest boss Steve Cooper added: "I have seen Omar a lot during his time at Reading and, alongside our recruitment team, we have been following his progress in Germany.

"He previously established himself as one of the best full-backs in the league, but has since enjoyed the Champions League and Bundesliga with one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"We believe he can make a big impact on our return to the Premier League and we are delighted he has chosen to join us at Nottingham Forest."
