NSCDC Issues One-Month Ultimatum to Jigawa Private Guards

Nigeria's Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has issued a one-day ultimatum to private guard companies to ensure strict compliance with the rules and regulations set out in the PGC Act.

Jigawa State NSCDC Commander Musa Alhaji Mala (CC) issued the warning during a meeting with the Chairman of the State Association of Private Guard Companies.

He said this was to reinvigorate private custody companies and ensure strict compliance for effective service delivery.

"You must ensure strict adherence to the rules and regulations set forth in the PGC Act, including registration of companies, revalidation of expired licenses, prompt payment of employee allowances, use of approved uniforms, display of identity cards, training and retraining of personnel, operation of offices within the state, among others,” the commander said.

"Your importance in providing security to the state and the nation as a whole, particularly in the area of ​​intelligence gathering and sharing, cannot be overstated."

He has, however, given a month-long ultimatum to all private security companies to put their houses in order for effective security.

The State Chairman of the PGC Association, Mr. Anthony Michael, in Dutse, the state capital, has expressed his willingness to comply with the guidelines.

The NSCDC is responsible for supervising the activities of private custody companies in the country, pursuant to Section 3, Subsections b, c, d of the NSCDC Act 2007, as amended.
