Osun: APC denounces alleged decision by INEC and PDP officials to compromise election documents

The Osun State branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused some members of the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) of trying to compromise the content of the results of the July 16 elections.

The APC, in a statement signed by the state chairman, Prince Gboyega Famoodun, said the party had received authentic information that some people from the INEC office in the state of Osun and the PDP compromise the EC8A and EC8B forms vis-à-vis the bimodal voter. Accreditation System Reports (BVAS) which contain records of the actual number of people accredited to vote in each voting unit.

Famoodun noted that accused figures in Osun's INEC office and the PDP have gone into panic mode since APC and Governor candidate Gboyega Oyetola filed the case in the Electoral Court.

APC, in its petition to the court, claimed that the number of people accredited by the BVAS and the actual number of people who voted at each polling station do not comply with the 2022 electoral law.

The statement reads: "By the above, we were able to establish an over-vote in 749 polling stations in ten local government areas of Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, Ejigbo, Ila, Ilesha West, Irepodun, Obokun, Olorunda and Osogbo local government council areas.

"We have learned from a reliable and authoritative source that INEC officials in Osogbo, working for the PDP and its candidate, Ademola Adeleke, have embarked on an urgent process of manipulating the contents of the BVAS report in order to defeat the unassailable allegations and evidence at our disposal.

"It is recorded that certified copies of most documents are with us and any attempt to tamper with, manipulate, falsify or utter such documents in the custody of INEC must be subject to strong resistance,” he said.
