Oyo registers 10 suicide cases in three months – Police

Oyo State Police said at least 10 cases of suicide were recorded in the state between June and September 2022.

State Police Commissioner Adebowale Williams made this known during an interactive session with reporters on Wednesday in Ibadan.

Mr. Williams said the development was concerning given the number of people involved.

He said three people died in June, two in July, while three people and two others died in August and September respectively.

The police commissioner gave the names of those involved, including Basiru Ayomide, 18, Obed Masoyi, 28, Oladimeji John, Alawode Idowu, 50, and Adebayo Israel, 60.

The others were Sikiru Rafiu, Baba Mariam, Osasenage Osamade, 16, Peter John and Abiodun Abdulraheem, 28.
