Panic as tanker explodes in Ibadan

A tank truck caught fire on Thursday after exploding at the Apata junction along the Ibadan/Abeokuta road in Oyo state.

It was learned that the tanker lost control and rammed into stores opposite the NNPC gas station before bursting into flames.

Viral videos on social media captured the raging fire, as onlookers and eyewitnesses called for help.

However, The Nation reported that state fire department officers arrived at the scene shortly after the fire.

Spokesman for the Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident, saying the area division police officer had deployed men to the scene.
