PDP Crisis: Deal Must Be Honored - Oshiomhole Supports Governor Wike

Former National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole has backed the Governor of Rivers State in the current leadership crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Wike and four other governors elected under the PDP platform had demanded the resignation of the party's national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.

Oshiomhole who spoke on the issue during the commissioning of the Rumuepirikom flyover in the state's Obio-Akpor local government area on Wednesday questioned why the party gave up its presidential ticket in the north despite the agreement of 17 southern governors.

DAILY POST recalls that the 17 Governors of Southern Nigeria met on May 11, 2021 in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, where they decided that the region would produce President Muhammadu Buhari's successor.< /p>

According to the former governor of Edo State, Asaba's resolution by governors of all parties should be respected by those who made it.

"So if you voluntarily come to an agreement, you are bound to obey your agreement. Now, if you disobey the agreement and say, 'No, I will keep the agreement', is it wrong with that?" Oshiomhole questioned.

He praised Wike for the many "beautiful projects" at Rivers, saying the results are stubborn and don't lie.
