Plateau Poly resumes, suspends three-month strike

Plateau State Polytechnic Provost John Dawan said Wednesday that classes would resume Monday after faculty suspended their three-month strike.

Dawan revealed this in an interview with The PUNCH in Jos, saying, "I have asked the Registrar of Polytechnic to issue a memo asking students to return to campus immediately. .

"We don't want to waste any more time after the union members called off their strike, but the conferences will start working from Monday."

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Plateau State Chapter has declared an indefinite strike alongside six other higher education institutions in the state over issues affecting their welfare.

Dabam Lawam, president of the Mixed Union of Academic Staff of Plateau State-owned higher education institutions, confirmed the suspension of the strike at PUNCH on Wednesday.
