Police arrest couple and 6 others for killing and dismembering woman in Ogun

Ogun State Police Command officers arrested a couple, Taiwo and Salawa Ajalorun, along with six others for kidnapping, murdering and dismembering a 26-year-old mother, Oyindamola Adeyemi.< /p>

Those arrested alongside the couple were Lukman Oladele; Kayode Ibrahim; Bello Akim; Alebiosu Adebayo; Fatai Rasheed and Fatai Jimoh.

The suspects were apprehended following a report filed at Obalende Ijebu-Ode Division Headquarters by a certain Ojo Omolara.

The complainant had reported that her neighbor, Oyindamola Adeyemi, had left the house on the morning of December 28, 2022 and had not returned home.

Ojo informed the police that the victim's phone was unavailable 24 hours after his disappearance.

The dismembered body of the mother, according to a statement made available by the Command Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, was found by the side of a road on December 29.

Oyeyemi said that the complainant was informed of the discovery of the lifeless body of a woman who had been deposited at the morgue.

After recognizing the body, Division DPO Obalende, SP Murphy Salami, mobilized their crack detectives and embarked on a technical and intelligence-based investigation that led them to Taiwo Olutufese Ajalorun, a herbalist, in whose possession the deceased Itel phone was recovered.

The PPRO said: "He was promptly arrested and a search warrant was duly executed at his home, where a container filled with human blood later discovered to be that of the deceased was recovered.

“His arrest led to the arrest of his friend, Lukman Oladele, in whose home the legs of the deceased were also found. They both made confessions which led to the arrest of other suspects who are buyers of different body parts of the deceased.

"During interrogation, Taiwo Olutufese Ajalorun and Lukman Oladele confessed that the deceased was lured into the house of Taiwo who happened to be her friend, but as soon as the victim entered, she was cornered by Taiwo Olutufese and Lukman Oladele and they then strangled her to death.

"After killing her, they cut off her head, legs and both hands which they sold to their reserve buyers to use for lucrative rituals.

"According to them, the legs of the deceased were sold at the rate of 30,000 naira, while the heart was sold at the rate of 50,000 naira to Akeem Bello, while the person who bought the head is still in leak.

"The suspects further confessed that the victim was the third person they had killed in such a gruesome manner."

Police Commissioner, CP Lanre Bankole has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Departments for quiet investigation and diligent prosecution.
