Assault

A human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, on Friday petitioned the Nigerian Police through his X account (formerly Twitter) regarding the alleged assault of a traveler by unidentified police officers in the state.

Mr. Gwamnishu said the traveler, identified simply as Jennifer, was allegedly beaten by officers taking part in a stop and search operation around Ada George in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

The activist uploaded a video clip of the incident.

“Please investigate this matter and call these men to order. Thank you", he told the police authorities of Nigeria.
