Porto and Liverpool deny Otavio rumors

Liverpool have been credited with an interest in FC Porto attacking midfielder Otavio for almost a year now, with the first rumors emerging in Portugal ahead of last year's summer transfer window. The Merseysiders then signed winger Luis Diaz from Porto in January, but that did little to quell 'reports' that Jurgen Klopp also wanted Otavio at Anfield.

It has been said that the Champions League finalists are set to trigger a release clause for Otavio, set at €60m.

However, Fabrizio Romano claims the clause is actually €40m, and his sources at Liverpool and Porto have denied any talk of the matter. After parting ways with Divock Origi, Sadio Mane and Takumi Minamino so far, Liverpool have signed Fabio Carvalho, Darwin Nunez and Calvin Ramsay.

As things stand, Otavio is not on their list, nor is a return for Georginio Wijnaldum, although some reports suggest otherwise.
