PraSaga obtains a US patent for placing a computer operating system on the blockchain

The patent protects claims for processing non-singular message-passing transactions on the blockchain.

PraSaga awarded U.S. patent for placing computer operating system onto the blockchain New

According to a new publication from the United States Patent and Trademark Office on Tuesday, Swiss blockchain startup PraSaga has been awarded a patent placing its operating system, dubbed "SagaOS", on the blockchain. Titled "Systemic Extensible Blockchain Object Model Comprising A First-class Object Model And A Distributed Ledger Technology", the methods described in US patent no. 11436039B2 relate to the processing of several message transmission transactions via the blockchain.

Currently, smart contracts can process only one transaction or action at a time. However, PraSaga claims that its proprietary methods, as described in the patent, can enable multiple actions to be performed simultaneously and in greater numbers. The SagaOS team said they hope to establish an operating system on the native SagaChain that stores class trees and logic for smart assets registered in individual accounts on SagaChain.

As for the development, David Beberman, PraSaga co-founder, chief technology officer and inventor of the technology, said:

"SagaOS will improve developers' ability to build applications, manage their codebases, and meet real-world challenges. We set out to address parallel transaction processing, and in doing so, we've built a method for writing blockchain applications that more closely matches other application environments."

The patent, which was filed in 2019, took three years to issue. PraSaga does not yet have its own publicly traded token or mainnet. Based on its roadmap, the company expects to complete both tasks by the end of the second quarter of 2023. Hester M. Peirce, Commissioner of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, once hailed PraSaga as a potential "Transportation Security Administration [U.S. air travel pre-security clearance] pre-verification" for regulatory use of blockchain.
