The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, sitting in Abuja, has authorized live streaming of its judgment on the three motions to remove President Bola Tinubu from office.

The tribunal, in a statement signed by its chief registrar, Mr. Umar Bangari, said the decision was aimed at ensuring transparency and openness in its proceedings.

He warned, however, that only accredited people would have access to the courtroom he has scheduled for the judgments on Wednesday.

“In an effort to promote transparency and openness, these judgments will be broadcast live by interested television stations for the public to follow.

“Access to the premises of the court will be strictly by accreditation. Only accredited persons, including lawyers and representatives of political parties, will have access to the courtroom.

“Interested members of the public are advised to watch the proceedings from their televisions,” the statement read.

The three petitions marked: CA/PEPC/03/2023, CA/PEPC/05/2023 and CA/PEPC/04/2023, were filed in court by the Labor Party candidate, LP, Mr Peter . Obi, former vice-president and candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as well as the Allied People's Movement, APM, respectively.

On August 1, the five-member tribunal panel headed by Judge Haruna Tsammani allowed the cases to be heard, after all parties adopted their final memoranda of argument.
