Pro-XRP lawyer Jeremy Hogan's tweet scam finally goes silent

For most of the past four days, hackers have used Hogan's account to promote fraudulent XRP giveaway scams.

The recent flood of fraudulent tweets about the hacked account of pro-XRP lawyer Jeremy Hogan has finally dried up after nearly four days.

Since July 24, the XRP community has been diligently warning others and tagging Twitter support after noticing Hogan's account tweeting malicious links for an alleged XRP giveaway (XRP).

At 1am July 28, all tweets related to XRP giveaways were deleted, suggesting that Hogan either regained access to his account or that Twitter support eventually intervened.

The last tweet sent from Hogan's account - now deleted - said he "felt so generous" and offered to return double the amount of XRP sent to his address.

The on-chain data shows that the mentioned address managed to earn 784 XRP in three hours, or around $561 at current prices. It was sent by 12 users.

Other tactics used by hackers throughout the ordeal included posting a series of links to a fraudulent "Ripplex.win" website - which, at time of publication, can no longer be reached.

According to Wayback Machine, the website has been suspended. It is unclear how much XRP was potentially hijacked by the website...
