PSC reinstates 10 fired police officers

The Police Service Board reinstated 10 fired officers, converted the dismissals of two others into retirement and dismissed the appeals of six others as lacking merit, after considering the appeals and petitions of 18 fired officers.

The PSC took the decision during its 17th Plenary Session which ended in Abuja on Friday, November 11, 2022 and was chaired by its Acting President, Justice Clara Ogunbiyi.

The Commission also approved the conversion of 301 ICT professionals to general service.

He previously approved the special promotion of CSP Daniel Amah to the next rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police for his exemplary conduct in rejecting a $200,000,000 bribe in the line of duty as an officer Divisional Police in Bompai Kano State. .

Amah also received the Honesty and Integrity Service Award and a cash donation of 1 million Naira.

The plenary also approved the promotion of 48 Commission staff.

In a statement acquired by our correspondent, Ogunbiyi said the CPS will continue to ensure that appeals and petitions from aggrieved or dismissed police officers are handled diligently.

She also noted that promotions for commission staff will remain fast and steady, but called for staff reciprocity through better engagement in the performance of their duties, adding that there was so much work to be done. to do within the commission.< /p>
