The Pucci Experience: While practically synonymous with a beach vacation, Emilio Pucci also has roots in the mountains - a fact the Florentine house will bring St. Moritz to life this winter.

A fashion "experience" is planned for December 8-10 in the prestigious Swiss ski destination, WWD has learned.

"The main idea is to underline Pucci's position for winter," said artistic director Camille Miceli, who unveiled her first creations for the famous Italian brand last April in Capri, the island of the jet set where founder Emilio Pucci opened his first boutique in 1951.

Pucci, who died in 1992, was known for his athletic prowess and was a member of the Italian Olympic ski team in 1932. In fact, he was "discovered" as a designer while skiing and accidentally met fashion photographer Toni Frissell, who asked to photograph her ski outfit. Legend has it that when she found out he had personally designed the collection, she asked him to design women's skiwear, which was later featured in Harper's Bazaar, and a career was born.

He began designing jersey skiwear in 1947 and opened his house in 1949, which quickly became famous for its colorful and graphic designs.

Miceli is still shaping the St. Moritz program, but will surely conjure up many Instagrammable moments like she did in Capri, where models lay down on towels doing synchronized leg raises, and guests participated in yoga classes, lunches and dance parties.< /p>

A seasoned creative who served as accessories creative director at Louis Vuitton before joining Pucci last September, Miceli said she likes to "show things in a different way and surprise people. We're a brand of resort and lifestyle: we show clothes in context."

Pucci is also unveiling collections on a view now, buy now schedule, with deliveries scheduled as monthly drops. The company, controlled by French luxury giant LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, recently rebooted as a resort-focused brand, with Miceli calling its clothes easy to wear, easy to pack and versatile enough to take a woman from " morning till night."

She said the collection to be unveiled in St. Moritz would include evening dresses and gift items, given that it is timed for the holiday season, as well as ski and resort items.< /p>
