Quinta Brunson Hilariously Interrupts Jimmy Kimmel's Monologue After Emmys Controversy: Watch

Quinta Brunson, 32, just gave Jimmy Kimmel, 54, a taste of his own medicine — all while having fun, of course. The writer and Abbott Elementary star showed up on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Sept. 14 and cut off his monologue to thank his loved ones. After Jimmy told her she was "a little early for your interview," Quinta replied, "Oh, I know, but I have a little favor to ask of you."

She continued, "You know how when you win an Emmy you only have 45 seconds to give an acceptance speech - which isn't a lot of time – and then you get less time because someone is doing a stupid comedy that goes on a little too long?" The award-winning actress was directly referencing Jimmy lying on stage and giving a thumbs up as part of a comedy that continued as Quinta accepted his award Monday night, sending Twitter into a frenzy.

Quinta then admitted that she "required" to have a few more minutes to "thank a few more people than I didn't." couldn't thank Monday night. Rightly so!

After admitting why she interrupted the TV host, Jimmy gladly backed off and gave her his moment. "Absolutely, take all the time you want, I'll be back here," Jimmy said to cheers from the crowd. Quinta thanked a list of her team and the show's fans, as well as "the internet" for "raising" her. "And to all my Abbott Elementary writers watching, I wouldn't have this without you – now please go to bed, we have work tomorrow," the actress joked. Jimmy then asked Quinta to conveniently introduce the show's commercial break and schedule for the evening before he sat down for his interview.
