Rainmaker Games has announced the closing of a new funding round for its blockchain gaming platform. This last round raised $4.7 million. According to Rainmaker, he plans to launch his platform in beta in early 2023.

Placeholder and Hivemind Capital co-led the funding round, with participation from Hivemind, Shima Capital, Peer Ventures, Coinfund, Side Door Ventures, Blockwall Capital, Placeholder and Tokenbay Capital. The company closed its previous funding round last December, in which it raised $6.5 million.

According to Rainmaker, the new version of its platform is aimed more at gaming communities (it was originally based on play-to-win mechanics). The company likens it to the fitness app Strava because it lets users challenge others to games without them having to play at the same time. Rainmaker aims to create new communities in the gaming market.
