Rapper Patrick Wayne remains dead at 36

Pat Stay, known as one of the best fight rappers in the game, died after being stabbed in Nova Scotia, Canada.

The stabbing happened early Sunday morning in downtown Halifax, police say - and while authorities have not confirmed Pat was the victim...his brother, Pete Stay, confirmed his death to CBC.

Police arrived just after 12:30 a.m. and Pat was taken to hospital...but he later died of his injuries. No one has been arrested for the knife attack.

Pat hailed from Dartmouth, NS...hardly a hotbed for hip-hop, but he was still revered in the industry for his freestyle in live rap battles.

Stay has had a huge following on social media and dropped a new track on YouTube just 2 days ago that rocks The Game -- it's called "The Game DISS".

The video includes brief quotes from Drake, Method Man and Joe Budden...all of whom praised Stay's fight rap.

Drake's take on his skills was, "Pat Stay is definitely one of the best, if not the best."

Police are asking anyone with information about the knife attack to call 902-490-5020.
