Real Madrid 'considering offer' for Tottenham star to replace Man Utd target - Ancelotti is an 'admirer'

Real Madrid have reportedly 'considered an offer' for Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as they consider replacing Casemiro.

Spurs could well be victims of Manchester United's pursuit of Casemiro.

The Brazil international is being targeted by the Red Devils after failing in their pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

Mike Dean shouldn't talk to the press about his VAR decision-making

Man Utd now have a 'full deal' with Casemiro, with the 30-year-old set to move to Old Trafford for up to €70m.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti tried to sign Hojbjerg while the legendary manager was at Everton.

Tottenham ended up signing him while Jose Mourinho was in charge. Their former manager previously praised Hojbjerg:

“Pierre is above all very intelligent. He reads the game very well. He will be a coach one day, for sure,” Mourinho said in a press conference in 2020.

"He's annoying, he asks questions about why we're doing this and why we're doing that. On the pitch, he reads the situation very, very well and the people around him are really compact, they read the game.

"Physically he is very, very strong and technically he is much better than people think. Because sometimes people think the guy who is technically good is the one who does the backheel.

"The guy who is good technically is the one who does something wonderful. But those are not my words. Those are words of coaches from 30, 40 years ago. Simplicity is great.< /p>

"And the guy is so straightforward in everything he does with the ball. And I think he's a phenomenal player."

Hojbjerg has been a key player for Tottenham since 2020, playing 103 times in all competitions.

The Telegraph reports that Real Madrid have identified Hojbjerg as a potential replacement for Casemiro.

Tottenham are under no pressure to sell him as he still has three years left on his contract. Ancelotti is, however, an "admirer" of him and you might predict that Hojbjerg would have his head turned.

The 27-year-old has played the full 90 minutes in Tottenham's first two games of the 2022/23 campaign.

Yves Bissouma will likely challenge Hojbjerg for a place in Antonio Conte's squad if the experienced midfielder stays at Spurs.

Real Madrid are already not short of midfield options. Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, Toni Kroos, Dani Ceballos and Luka Modric are all fighting for a starting spot.
