Reem Acra Pre-Fall 2023

Inspired by the rise of home and garden entertainment events, the latest "Magic Garden " by Reem Acra was designed to provide upbeat and playful fashions to its diverse clientele during the summer months.

"You still have a touch of the old glamor that's going on", did she said of the two pre-drop gold figures, "as well as various minidresses. We have a variety of customers — it's not just that [traditional glamorous] woman, but also the girl who wants to wear the mini and who is price conscious. We try to think of all customers - the one who wants the glitz, the one who wants the simplicity.

"And that's the new surprise, but we don't want to talk too much about it because it's the first development," she explained, referring to the collection's first white viscose knit dress embellished with subtle tulle inserts (which wasn't included in the season's lookbook, as the designer was just diving its toes in the category for pre-fall, and will expand it next season).

Pre-fall - which offered something for everyone in a range of spacious kaftans, dresses evening dresses and elegant cocktail dresses - has been described by Acra as "floral, cheerful and relaxed". While there were certainly fewer embellishments per look than in previous collections (i.e. an elegant and simple white mikado dress with floral pattern cutouts on her bishop sleeves), the designer still offered plenty from shimmering accents to fantasy. For example, handmade 3D floral appliqués, jewel-like embellishments, embroidered insects (butterflies, bees, dragonflies) and floral enamel hair accessories on a variety of silhouettes in a range of vibrant hues.
