Sam Cox bought a Kent mansion - then covered every inch of black scribbling, as reported by JANE FRYER

"Now I want to doodle a whole village!" With artworks that have sold for £800,000 each, Sam Cox bought a Kent mansion, then covered every inch of it with black scribbles. And as JANE FRYER reports, her neighbors better stock up on Tipp-Ex

Fueled by the exuberance of youth, many of us dare to think big and bold. Some of us dream of being movie stars or musicians. Others might dream of saving lives, the polar ice cap or a rare species in Africa.

Sam Cox's teenage ambition was rather niche. Because, from the age of 15, he knew that one day he had to become a famous cartoonist, buy a big white mansion and doodle everywhere. Interior and exterior, walls, ceilings, floors, doors and everything.

'It was the wish of my life. Everything I wanted. Everything was done with the aim of realizing this dream,” he says.

Fortunately, he is a little more focused than most of us. and so, presto, 13 years later, Sam (aka Mr. Doodle, with over two million social media followers), his beautiful Ukrainian wife, Alena, 32, and I are all sitting on scribbled couches in his scribbled drawing room in his grand scribbled mansion, set in three acres of sweeping lawns on a leafy lane in Tenterden, Kent.

Everything is scribbled in black and white with cartoons, doodles and patterns. The skirting boards, the cornices, the table, the TV cabinet, the wood stove — even the windows and patio doors are coated in black acrylic paint.

Hang lit, windows?

From the age of 15, Sam Cox (pictured with his wife Alena) knew that one day he had to become a famous cartoonist, buy a large white mansion and doodle all over Alena said it was a very traditional English house when they bought it
