Sanwo-Olu receives a return certificate

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy Obafemi Hamzat received a Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday.

This was after their victory in the state's March 18 gubernatorial election.

Sanwo-Olu, who won re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, won the election by garnering 762,134 votes to beat his closest neighbour, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labor Party, who garnered 312,329 votes and Olajide Adediran of the People's Democratic Party who obtained 62,449 votes.

The governor and his deputy were accompanied by their wives to the INEC office in the state to receive the certificate of return to see them in office for another four years.

Speaking to the audience, Sanwo-Olu reiterated his call for calm and peaceful coexistence in this position, just as he warned against religious and ethnic intolerance.
