Sanwo-Olu speaks tough and pledges to monitor the performance of permanent news

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday swore in 11 new Permanent Secretaries, pledging to personally monitor their performance to ensure they provide the required service and expected for their various ministries and agencies.

The Governor made the vow during the swearing-in ceremony which took place at State House, Alausa, Ikeja, although he recalled that he personally interviewed and selected over 20 selected trustees, of which 11 have been nominated.

Governor Sanwo-Olu stressed that his administration was committed to paying the dividends of democracy and therefore instructed the new appointees to respect the mandates of their office because, according to him, the resolution of his administration to pay dividends of democracy was unwavering.

"The selection process was rigorous and intense. Our administration promotes competence. The appointment of these 11 permanent secretaries was the result of painstaking work. The role of permanent secretaries is fundamental to the success of any administration. .

"This administration is committed to excellence and we believe we have appointed the very best. I will personally monitor your performance individually. If you need assistance, you have access to me. Our goal to deliver democracy dividends is unshakeable,” Sanwo-Olu said.

Head of Service (HOS), Hakeem Muri-Okunola, in his welcome address, told the new appointees to see their appointments as a call to do more, adding "to whom much is given, much more is expected ".

The new Permanent Secretaries are Mr. Osinaike Olusegun Olawale assigned to TGPS District IV; Dr. Oyetola, Idowu Olufunke, TGPS District III; Oyegbola Olasunkanmi Mopileola, Civil Service Bureau and Dawodu, Kikelomo Arinola, Central Internal Audit,

The others are: Toriola Abdulhafis Gbolahan serving in the Ministry of Transport; Abidakun Olubusola Ajibola, Teaching Services Commission; Aina Ololade Olasupo, Ministry of Interior; Kasunmu Ibilola Olufolake, Ministry of Science and Technology, Sogunle Michael Olumide, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Sotire Oluwole Olumide, Ministry of Waterfront and Infrastructure, and Obajomo Ibrahim Amodu, Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget.

The governor was also sworn in to a four-man Chieftaincy Inquiry Tribunal, headed by Judge Owolabi Dabiri, with a mandate to settle matters regarding traditional matters.

Sanwo-Olu said more than 50 chieftaincy cases have been handled since 2001, when the Tribunal was formed.
