Rain meant the start of the match was delayed and then when the action started Saskia Horley shone with the bat with 44 as Scotland went 126-8.

Ireland were 44-1 from five overs when rain halted play prematurely.

Orla Prendergast (17) and Amy Hunter (16) were the undefeated drummers.

Ireland had been reduced to 15-1 when fly-half Gaby Lewis was brought down by Rachel Slater in the third over.
