A traditional leader, Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, said on Thursday that the insecurity gripping the country was worrying and remained a pain in everyone's neck, including the traditional institution.

Oba Adejugbe, who is the Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, has also expressed concern over the protracted industrial action launched by the Academic Union of Universities.

The traditional ruler, who spoke in his palace while revealing the activities of the annual Udiroko festival, which would be held on Sunday and symbolized the community's New Year, described the festival as another opportunity to gather, pray and discuss.

He said, "We feel the strike. We will continue to appeal to the federal government and ASUU. We pray that FG and ASUU will urgently reach a compromise for the strike to end, for the universities to reopen so that our children can return to school. »

Oba Adejugbe, who said that everyone should be on the bridge to end the insecurity in the country, continued: "We know that the state of security in the country is bad. We will pray, and we will take the matter to our ancestors, who asked us to ask them in prayer for our needs, and there will be an intervention. When we pray in Udiroko, our prayers are answered.

"It's like when Christians go to Jerusalem to pray or when Muslims go to Mecca to pray and have their prayers answered."
