"Shazam! Fury of the Gods" Trailer Features Dragons, Annabelle, and Helen Mirren

Billy Batson is (finally) back, and he's having a bit of a superhero fit in the first trailer for 'Shazam! Fury of the Gods'. Warner Bros. premiered the trailer at Comic-Con on Saturday, ending the long wait for more Shazam fun after the first film premiered in 2019. The sequel appears to be just as lighthearted and full of laughs as the original, but the The stakes are higher this time around as Billy and his newly superpowered family face their biggest threat yet.

While DC is keeping mum on the film's exact plot for now, the trailer suggests that Billy and his family have inflicted the wrath of the Old Gods. This leads to new cast members Lucy Liu and Helen Mirren, who play the Daughters of Atlas, wreaking havoc on Earth in retaliation for a group of children who stole the powers of the Old Gods. "It's very personal, Billy," Mirren told Zachary Levi's Shazam in a scene where he hilariously references the Fast and Furious movies, which also star "The Queen" actor.

Despite the very real threat Billy and his siblings face this time around, the sequel seems to be just as brazen as the original. In addition to the Fast and Furious Easter egg, eagle-eyed fans will be able to spot horror movie favorite Annabelle in Billy's pediatrician's office. Add to that a battle with a dragon and a touch of unicorn ride and it becomes clear that "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" wants nothing more than to give moviegoers a good time.

Ahead, we've broken down everything we know about 'Shazam! Fury of the Gods' so far, including the trailer, plot details, cast, and release date.< /p>
