Shittu and Keyamo welcome Bello's appointment as youth coordinator

Former Communications Minister Adebayo Shittu, All Progressives Congressional Presidential Campaign Council Spokesman Festus Keyamo and a number of party supporters congratulated the state governor on Sunday of Kogi, Yahaya Bello, for his appointment as National Youth Councillor. Coordinator of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.

The nomination, which was conveyed in a letter to Bello, bore the signature of APC presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

According to the APC National Leader, the Governor has distinguished himself as a worthy ambassador of the ruling party due to his impressive political achievements and exemplary leadership.

Tinubu also expressed his firm belief that Bello would lead an effective, message-driven campaign that could lead them to victory in the 2023 presidential election.

The letter read in part: "Through this letter, we are pleased to officially announce your appointment as the National Youth Coordinator of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.

"This appointment is fitting and appropriate, given your impressive political achievements and the exemplary leadership you have shown as Governor of your state and as a member of the party.

"We appreciate you joining our campaign team. We know you will do your best in this new responsibility so that we can run an effective and message-driven campaign that will lead us to victory at the World Cup. presidential election of 2023.

“Together, not only can we ensure victory for our party in the February 2023 elections, but we will also move Nigeria forward on the path to national greatness by building on the achievements of our party and the President, the Major General Muhammadu Buhari ( retd.) administration in providing progressive good governance to Nigerians. We wish you speed and God's guidance.”

There were several accolades from a number of leaders, supporters and aides to the governor.

Reacting to Bello's appointment, a former communications minister, Adebayo Shittu, revealed that Tinubu was known to add people who would add value to his campaign.

He said, “Bello is pretty much the youngest governor in Nigeria today. Obviously he understands the language of Nigerian youth.”

When reminded that critics of Governor Kogi believed he had no national relevance when his influence as governor was stripped from him, Shittu backed down.

"The same Yahaya Bello? I don't think so. Besides, there's nothing stopping Tinubu from appointing as many young ambassadors for his campaign organization as he wishes.

"Secondly, speaking of influential youth, aren't the youth of the central north part of Nigeria? Who did the test to show that Bello's influence does not go beyond the Center-North? For me, I don't see any difference here. The more the merrier, the merrier."

The media and publicity director of the Yahaya Bello presidential campaign organization, Ms. Yemi Kolapo, also described the appointment of her director as a well-deserved honor.

She said, "This appointment is also a vote of confidence in Governor Yahaya Bello's proven ability in his current mission as Governor of Kogi State.

"This reinforces the belief in informed circles that Tinubu has a unique eye for star performers, regardless of religion, tribe or gender. He is known for putting round pegs in round holes. is what he demonstrated with the appointment of Bello as National Youth Coordinator of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.

“Nigerians need to be assured that Tinubu will be operational as soon as he is sworn in as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with experienced professionals well placed to revitalize key sectors.”

All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council spokesman Festus Keyamo said Bello's appointment as national youth ambassador was "politically calculating".

"Bello attracts a large following among the youth of the party. More importantly, it further unites our house as he was one of the formidable contenders who ran against Asiwaju in our primary. It further shows that Asiwaju is an excellent headhunter,” he said.
