Last week, Shrapnel released the cinematic trailer for its multiplayer first-person shooter, also named Shrapnel. Some people were skeptical that the real game would look this good. And so today, the team from HBO Interactive releases its first gameplay video.

And it looks pretty. Last week's trailer promised the cutscene was built using Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5 technology, which uses features like Nanite to cram an insane number of polygons into a scene, said Shrapnel CEO Mark Long in an exclusive interview with GamesBeat. /p>

This fast-paced action trailer showed how competitive multiplayer looks a lot like Escape From Tarkov, built with stellar graphics. The gameplay video released exclusively for GamesBeat today shows a very similar landscape on top of buildings in a neon city. But you can tell it's true multiplayer gameplay because someone's aim isn't spectacular and some enemies make the mistake of standing still without cover.

Not bad for a blockchain game. So far, hardcore gamers haven't pestered the company about it, as it's clearly focused on gameplay first, Foran said.
