Actor Simon Pegg has described his jazz musician father John Beckingham as a "man adorable", following his death aged 77.
The Brockworth-born actor and screenwriter paid tribute to his father on BBC Radio Gloucestershire earlier.
"Music was a very important part of my relationship with Dad. I was always amazed by his passion," he added.
Mr Beckingham, who was a well-known and popular Gloucester musician, died after a short illness.
Her son, known for his roles in films like Hot Fuzz and the Mission Impossible series, said the Music had always been his father's passion and had played an important role in both their lives.
Mr Pegg, 53, said: "He was a face on the Gloucester music scene.
"He was such a lovely man, loved by many.
"Most of the time we listened to music, he listened to music. show me stuff.
