Sir Billy Connolly has said he will "never give up performing" despite being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

The 80-year-old Scottish comedian was diagnosed 10 years ago, the same day he discovered he had prostate cancer.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4's Today programme, he admitted he still misses the feeling of sharing his stories with an audience.

"[He has] the ability to cheer me up, and I love that," he said.

Sir Billy, who has been given the all-clear over cancer, says he has given up touring but "may in the future" be convinced to appear on stage again.

The star announced her retirement from comedy in 2018 and focused on establishing herself as an entertainer in the years that followed.
