Chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, has taken the world by storm after overtaking the current Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking time by Lata Tondon, after her 100 hour cooking marathon.< /p>

So in this episode of So This Happened, we reviewed the record-breaking feat of the Akwa Ibom-born chef and the inspiration behind her marathon cooking.

Ahead of the Cook-a-thon, at a press conference, Baci said she was inspired by the Holy Spirit and therefore set herself as an example and empowered other women to see and know that they were capable of doing more.

She said she would cook for four days and four nights to break the 87 hours and 45 minutes set by Tondon.

She originally wanted to do 96 hours, but she exceeded that and cooked for 100 hours.

She got support from Nigerians; the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retired); Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; and many more.
