Stay away from the southeast, Igbo youths tell Tinubu activists

Support groups merge in Enugu and decide to support APC candidates

Igbo youth under the auspices of the Coalition of Young Leaders of the South East (COSEYL) on Wednesday warned groups and individuals promoting the presidential ambition of Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu to stay away from the area.

The group's chairman and publicity secretary, Goodluck Ibem and Okay Nworu, in a statement, called it "unfortunate" how some people in Igboland would allow themselves to be used to promote the ambition of "one man exceeded in all ramifications in the scheme of things to vote as Nigerian President in 2023 "

They added that during one of Tinubu's outings in Ogun state, he openly bragged about appointing President Muhammadu Buhari as president in 2015, pointing out that his statement's contribution meant that the hardships Nigerians were facing had been brought on by him.

"In 2015, one dollar was exchanged for 160 naira. A liter of fuel was sold for N65, a liter of kerosene was sold for N50, diesel was sold for N50 per liter and cooking gas was sold for N100 per kilo but today a liter of kerosene is sold for N900, a liter of diesel for N1000, a kilo of cooking gas for N1000.

"Everything in the market used by Nigerians has grown more than 1000% from what it was before and the same person who has caused this misery for Nigerians wants to be President?. Ever. We will not allow for such a thing to happen.

“We, the youth of the Igbo Nation, will not allow affliction to come upon us a second time. Never!!! We had to make our mistakes in 2015 but we are wiser now. be fooled by no monetary incentive; it's time for the youth to take back our nation.

"We do not want to see any campaign posters, billboards, advertisements or political rallies promoting or campaigning for Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu in the Southeast. This is a warning which must be respected by all, regardless of your political position.

“We have formed a mobile task force to fully implement the directives of youth leaders in the Southeast. The young people have spoken. Enough said!" they said.
