Stop negative posts about EKSU on social media – VC warns

The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Professor Edward Olanipekun has warned students who like to post negative comments about the university on various social media platforms to refrain henceforth such acts.

The Vice-Chancellor gave the warning while addressing newly registered students for the 2021/2022 academic session for regular, sandwich and professional postgraduate programs which are being held at the main auditorium of the university , Teen Ekiti.

Prof Olanipekun noted that there are various channels of communication through which issues can be managed rather than exposing the university to unnecessary ridicule and, therefore, advised students to explore these avenues.

The Vice-Chancellor congratulated the students on their passage through the rigorous postgraduate college selection exercise and informed them that they all had reason to be proud of the State University of Ekiti as a center of academic excellence. He noted that the university has improved in its recent webo metric ranking to be the 14th best university in Nigeria and the 2nd best state university across the country.

He encouraged students to always visit the university library which he described as one of the best in the sub-Saharan region. The Vice Chancellor further explained that the library is well equipped with electronic and hard copies of various versions of books, not only for research, but for in-depth knowledge of their academic pursuits.

Olanipekun further implored registrants to be good ambassadors for the institution and abide by all its rules and regulations, stressing that his administration has zero tolerance for any form of misconduct.

The Registrar of the University, Mr. Ife Oluwole, had earlier administered the oaths of matriculation to enrollees at the event.
