Sunday with Rachel Parris: 'There's a class divide in the way my husband cooks meat'

Early risers? I would love to sleep in, but our one-year-old son, Billy, wakes us up at 6:15 a.m. every day. It'll play on our bed, so there's always a feeling of Sunday laziness, and it's nice to remember the mornings and have more of the day available.

Sunday breakfast? Bacon sandwiches, avocado on toast - I'm trying not to sound like a millennial stereotype, but it's true.

Sunday morning? We'll probably go for a walk on Clapham or Tooting Common.

Sunday noon? My husband [comedian Marcus Brigstocke] is the chef of our house and loves to cook as elaborate and complicated a roast as possible. There is a class divide in the way he cooks meat. He makes the undercooked meat of the upper classes. My family, from Leicester, like it crispy.

Sunday respite? When the baby takes a nap, we could enter a cabinet. We just launched Better Call Saul. My husband has constant guilt about the television during the day. He thinks it degenerates into desperation, but I like that.

Sundays growing up? I went to church and played the organ for the service; all very healthy. My dad used to give me money to buy candy on the way home as a kind of bribe for the church.

Sunday work? Now that Late Night Mash has begun, Sunday is Zoom writing day. Sometimes I go to a concert, so Sunday does not guarantee a holiday.

Sunday dinner? If we've had a big lunch, we have what we call "chunks" for dinner - a bit of cheese, a bit of bread, a bit of lettuce, a bit of whatever is in the fridge. A little dinner is my favorite thing.

Sunday chores? Marcus is much more domestic than me. He thinks I'm not wiping the surfaces properly. If a particular kitchen surface isn't wiped clean, it will say nothing is clean - which I find ridiculous. Either way, it's gonna get dirty soon!

Relaxing Sunday? We love to lay in bed and watch funny videos on our phones, mostly dud videos - of people falling off their skateboards - or food videos, like how they make mozzarella. I find them strangely soothing.

Thete Night Mash is at 10 p.m. Thursday on Dave
