An ankle injury has kept the 29-year-old out since August and he was doubtful for England's first World Cup game against Afghanistan on October 22.

"Finally, we're down to the exciting part of rehab," said he said.

"We are getting closer and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Glad to be back and playing again."

Livingstone injured himself while slipping from a curb during The Hundred and afterwards missed all of England's 4-3 series win in Pakistan.

He will also miss all three matches against World Cup hosts and defending champions Australia - England lead 1-0 after an eight-point win on Sunday.

"We're trying to get that fight balance; push him as hard as you can without making him worse.

"I wouldn't want to get into a game don't not be 100%. I don't think it's the right thing for me to do and I don't think it's the right thing for guys to do."
