Taylor Swift Ticketmaster crash sparks anger on Capitol Hill

Tickets for Taylor Swift's upcoming US concert tour haven't even gone on sale to the general public yet, but the sales have already set a record, even as bot attacks and other impediments to purchase have left millions of other fans disappointed and struggling to shake themselves off.
"I got so close three or four times and the website crashed. It was nerve-wracking," said mum Nancy Abulmagd, who spent hours on Tuesday in a virtual queue, behind thousands of other people, trying to secure seats for her 11-year-old daughter and her friends, only for the website to repeatedly crash and ultimately hijack it empty-handed.
"The experience was truly deflating. It ruined your emotions and sucked up your whole day," said the 41-year-old, who lives in New Jersey.
