Inspector calls The Headland hotel in Cornwall and loves the view - but not the prices

The Inspector visits an iconic Cornwall hotel and falls in love with the sea views and the spa that takes you on a 'spa trip' (but the high prices and 'dreary' dining disappoint) The Inspector pays 366 £ for a dinner, bed and breakfast package at The Headland hotel above Fistral Beach Its 'cheerful' guest room is decorated with splashes of color - but only has sea views a concrete wall In January, the hotel will temporarily close while the huge main dining room is remodeled, he reveals Remember, the inspector pays his way...and says it like it's Advertisement

The new spa - or Aqua Club, as it's known - at The Headland is something thing. It's right on the coast overlooking the raging Atlantic (at this time of year) and has no less than six pools, designed to take you on a 'thermal journey'; as well as its own café, gym, terrace, steam rooms, saunas and treatment rooms.

Its elegant design contrasts sharply with the Heavy lobby at this iconic, family-friendly Victorian hotel above Fistral Beach in North Cornwall. But I feel like the Armstrong family, who still own it, are slowly making changes.

Many rooms have been updated and in January the whole place will close for a few months while Samphire, the huge main dining room, is refurbished.
