Tinubu pledges to keep its campaign promises

All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians of his commitment to deliver on his campaign promises if elected President of Nigeria in the February 25 elections.

The APC candidate said this on Sunday at a rally in support organized by the Arewa community in Lagos.

The event, held at Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan saw the presence of Nigerians of northern origin who came to offer their support to the former Governor of Lagos State.

“My respect for this country will continue to grow, and I will honor all my promises that we will all live in harmony. We belong in each other's hearts,” Tinubu said.

He also assured everyone that his government would be for all Nigerians regardless of their tribes and religions.

"Since I entered politics, I have always been nationalist and detribalized in my approach. I do not operate according to ethnicity, region or religion. I have friends and associates in every corner of this country.

"As Governor of Lagos State, I put together a cabinet of competent people from all parts of Nigeria. We had the Yoruba, as we had the Igbo and the Arewa. What was important for me was not your ethnicity or your beliefs, it was your skill and the value you would bring to governance and people. It was to replicate this feat for the country that I proposed myself for the presidency” , he said.

On his plans for the country, especially the North, Tinubu promised to address security challenges across the country, saying the economy cannot thrive in an insecure environment.

“If elected President, my top priorities will be the protection of our land and the prosperity of its people. I will tackle the problems of this nation by pledging to solve them.

"I promised to relaunch road and rail infrastructure to facilitate the movement of people and goods, among other interventions.

Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje described Tinubu as "a symbol of unity, a product of unity in diversity. He is the right person to be endorsed by Arewa and the best to the presidency."

Arewa Community APC Chairman, Alhaji Saadu Yusuf Gulma Dandare praised Tinubu for his stewardship while serving as Governor of Lagos State, assuring that Nigeria would be a better place under his presidency.
