Conservative leadership: Liz Truss cancels BBC interview with Nick Robinson

Liz Truss has pulled out of a BBC One interview with Nick Robinson which was to be broadcast Tuesday evening.
Ms Truss' team said they could no longer devote time to the individual programme, the BBC said in a statement.
< p class="ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00">Rishi Sunak, Ms Truss' rival for the Tory leadership, was interviewed by Robinson on August 10.
The Conservative Party membership ballot ends on Friday, with the winner to be announced next Monday, September 5.
In its statement, the BBC added : “We regret that it has not been possible to do an in-depth interview with the two candidates, although they have reached an agreement to do so. her scheduled interview with Ms Truss – widely considered the favorite for becoming Prime Minister – had been canceled.
Mr Sunak's campaign team accused Ms Truss of 'avoiding the exam', adding that opting out of the interview suggested she 'didn't have a plan at all' or he 'falls way short of the challenges we face this winter ".
