Tottenham Hotspur 'not rushing' Kane's new contract despite reported interest from Bayern Munich

According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur are in no rush to finalize a new contract for their striker Harry Kane.

The striker rose through the ranks at Spurs and established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe.

The England international has scored 248 goals in 386 appearances in all competitions for the north London club.

Spurs' optimism is high, but a realistic goal is simply to avoid Spursy's backsteps

Kane tried to get away from Tottenham last summer. He was looking to maximize his chances of winning team trophies and Man City were interested in him.

The striker ended up committing his future to Spurs and he shone for them in the final months of the 2021/22 campaign. He finished the season with 17 goals and nine assists in the league.

His current contract expires in 2024 and he has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich in recent days.

The German giants are set to lose Robert Lewandowski this summer. The prolific striker hopes to join FC Barcelona.

Despite this, 90min report that Tottenham are "not rushing to tie Kane to a new contract".

The 28-year-old is said to be 'happy at Spurs under Antonio Conte'. They add that "the general atmosphere at the club is better" than it was when Nuno Espirito Santo was in charge.

Elsewhere, former Premier League defender William Gallas doesn't think Manchester United will finish in the top four this season.

The Red Devils collected just 58 points last season and finished sixth in the Premier League.

Man Utd finished the season 13 points behind Antonio Conte's Tottenham Hotspur.

Erik ten Hag has left Ajax to take over at Man Utd ahead of next season. Tyrell Malacia is the only player they have signed so far this summer.

They are also linked to Frenkie de Jong, Christian Eriksen and Antony.

Gallas played for Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham during his professional career. He doesn't think Man Utd are capable of earning a Champions League place in 2022/23:

"I don't want to, but I have to put City on because they look very strong," Gallas told The Metro.

"So City, Chelsea, Liverpool definitely. Then the same problem, Arsenal or Tottenham, I don't know. Manchester United? I don't think so, no."

On Tottenham, Gallas added: "I think they can cause problems for big clubs.

"They are going to cause problems because they will be very strong this season, especially with the mentality of Antonio Conte."
