Tottenham press conference crushed by German with Bayern 'Kane 9' shirt

Ange Postecoglou's press conference in Bangkok was crashed by a German reporter holding up a Bayern Munich jersey with 'Kane 9' on the back. "Yesterday you said you weren't so relaxed about Harry's situation, how are you feeling today?" asked the Tottenham boss.

He replied, "That was two days ago and nothing has changed." The German then rolled out a Bayern Munich shirt with Harry Kane's name and team number on the back.

"What does it look like?" asked an angry Postecoglou. "Sounds pretty good, doesn't it?" The Spurs boss immediately replied, "Did you have a good laugh there? You've come a long way for that. Thank you."

An irate Postecoglou returned to the prank minutes later after being quizzed on what Spurs were working on in pre-season.

“We are only at the beginning,” said the 57-year-old Australian. "It's a huge football club, a huge opportunity and a huge challenge here. That's what we're going to try to do, to bring success to one of the biggest football clubs in the world, big enough to make fake sweaters to be there."

Bayern are pushing to bring Harry Kane to the Allianz Arena this summer and have seen two opening offers rejected.

The Bundesliga side haven't lost hope and are set to launch another move for Thomas Tuchel's prime target.

Postecoglou has been very open about his desire for Kane to stay in North London. But the England international is in the final 12 months of his contract, so this is Daniel Levy's last chance to take advantage of the striker - or risk losing him for free.

James Maddison joined Postecoglou at Rajamangala National Stadium to preview the upcoming friendly against his former side Leicester City on Sunday morning (11am KO).

And the striker refused to be drawn into the situation surrounding his teammate's future.

"I'm not going to go into the details of Harry's situation," the £40m signing said. "But from my point of view, I would like to be able to play with him.

"He's a world-class centre-forward, the best number nine in the world, a brilliant role model and an ultra-professional guy. Whatever happens, happens."
