Transfer: Jorge Mendes not involved in Ronaldo transfer to Al-Nassr
Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo's longtime agent Jorge Mendes was not involved in his move to Al-Nassr on Friday.
According to MARCA, Ronaldo's move to Al-Nassr was overseen by his personal manager Ricky Regufe.
Regufe, who previously worked as a marketing manager for Nike, was instrumental in Ronaldo's partnership with the sportswear brand in 2003 after he transferred from Sporting CP to Manchester United.
Mendes, on the other hand, has represented Ronaldo for almost two decades.
The report adds that relations between Ronaldo and Mendes have been strained recently following the striker's departure from Manchester United in November.
Recall that Ronaldo signed for Al-Nassr on Friday night, bidding farewell to European football after spending more than two decades playing in Europe.
The 37-year-old will earn a base salary of 90 million euros per year with the Saudi team.
