Tuchel says he could block Chelsea star's exit out of 'annoyance' at Barcelona's lack of fight

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel says he is reluctant to 'give Azpilicueta what he wants' as he is 'bored' by Barcelona.

The Chelsea club captain has informed Tuchel that he wants to leave for Camp Nou this summer after the Catalans reportedly agreed personal terms with the full-back.

If the 32-year-old were to join La Liga, it would end a decade-long stint at Stamford Bridge, during which he won every title at his disposal.

But Tuchel is not keen on allowing Azpilicueta to leave for Barcelona as he is unimpressed with the lack of fight they are showing to secure his signature.

Tuchel said (via Tom Ruddy of The Times): "It's also about us and the comparison of how much we fought for Koulibaly [...] We have a Spanish international player, Chelsea captain and I see him at the same level but Barcelona don't see him at that level so I don't know if I want to give Azpi what he wants."

Tuchel then explained that Azpilicueta "understands" the situation although he still wants to move.

Tuchel added (via Fabrizio Romano): "Maybe I'm a bit bored with Barca. But I'm doing my best for Chelsea. I told Azpilicueta that, he doesn't like it, but he understands".

"It's hard for him because the other club [Barça] is always on to him".
