Two bodies recovered from Lagos building collapse

Two bodies were found in a building that collapsed in Lagos on Sunday.

Nosa Okunbor, spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, provided an update on Sunday morning.

“Two male products were recovered from under the rubble and bagged,” he said.

"Search and rescue is underway."

PREMIUM TIMES quoted Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Permanent Secretary Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu as saying the incident happened in Oba Idowu Oniru Street beside of Avi Maria Hospital.

"Upon arriving at the scene of the incident, an unfinished seven-story building under construction collapsed," he said.

"Six people are believed to be trapped under the rubble of the collapsed structure.

"The Agency's heavy equipment excavator will be required for the rescue of trapped victims. We have activated the Lagos State Response Plan. Operation underway.
