Lufthansa cabin crew welcomed a new member of the team earlier this month - but he's not was not acting a standard new recruit.
The German airline's chief executive officer (CEO), Jens Ritter, worked as cabin crew in business and economy class on day and night flights between Riyadh, Bahrain and Frankfurt.
Ritter, who has led the airline since April 2022, opened up about the 'difficult' experience on LinkedIn, sharing photos of himself in crew uniform traditional.
One image shows him serving a passenger a drink, while in another he pushes the flight attendants' beverage cart.< /p>
He said his time as a crew was about "stepping into someone else's shoes" and described it as an "enriching and powerful experience".
'I was amazed at how much I learned in these few hours,' he said, adding that the decisions he will make in the Lufthansa offices in the future will be 'different' now that he has seen what the crew do while on board. .
"Sometimes you have to change your perspective in order to gain new knowledge," he said.
