Undercover cops intercepted two shooters at Zuba Motor Park, Abuja on Wednesday night.

Our correspondent has learned that the suspects, Uzo Onovo and Micheal Nwude, both residents of Zuba, were found with six new Pump Action rifles and 25 rounds transported from Anambra to Kano State via Abuja.

A source within the Federal Capital Territory Police Command confirmed to our correspondent that the suspect arrived at a roadside park near a gas station formerly known as Dan- Kogi in town around 2 p.m. Wednesday looking for a Kano-bound vehicle.

The source said, "Then the man handed over a box packed with a phone contact attached as the one who would receive the delivery in Kano after meeting the driver who was loading at that time."

The source added that the suspect did not hesitate to pay the N10,000 he was charged for the goods, which caused the driver to become suspicious, thus asking him to unpack the goods.

The suspect in the process attempted to flee but was apprehended by undercover cops at the car park.

The suspects were apprehended after the divisional police officer in charge of Zuba, Osor Moses, reinforced officers toward the park after receiving a call from undercover cops.

Confirming the incident to our correspondent, FCT police spokeswoman Josephine Adeh noted that the suspects are currently in custody as the investigation continues.

Adeh said, "Both suspects are currently in our custody while we continue the investigation to apprehend others within their network."
